The SDUS is up and running in the Trenton Carrier Annex. Currently the local is in discussions with Management regarding the staffing of the machine. Management and the Union had preliminary talks on May 12th, 2021. As of now, five clerks will be utilized to operate the machine (3 feeding and facing the mail and 2 pulling the full containers, scanning, and sorting packages that need to be sorted). The Union will continue to monitor the operation of the machine so they can ensure it's being operated by the correct employees. As additional information is known it will be forwarded to the membership.
